MAY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Kindergarten
Alyssa Pagan

With graduation just around the corner, there has certainly been a flower that has bloomed beautifully in our garden of children. This young lady has shown great improvement in the past months, and she is a pleasure to have in class. Her attentiveness and love for school is something to marvel at each day. She is always ready to be put to the challenge with a big smile. This child has brought joy to the class with her artistic style, and we are happy to have her. May this flower keep growing as high as the eye can see! Congratulations to Alyssa Pagan.
1-1 Marie Ann Conde

The
month of May has always been dedicated to our most blessed mother; and so how
appropriate is it that the SOM from Class 1 1 shares her name. This young girlıs heart is in the right
place and wants the best for her classmates but often, in the beginning of the
year she acted way to bossy and not in the way Jesus would want. After eight
months of self-improvement this child has turn a new leaf. Now she is being
more understanding, setting a fine example and not too bossy now. She is often the first one
finished her pod and then gets right to work assisting others. May the Blessed Virgin Mary
continue to bless her namesake, the SOM for Class 1-1 , Marie Ann Conde.
1-2 Marie-Perle Conde

This month as we honor
the Virgin Mary,
Class 1-2 would also
like to honor a student who has her namesake. This young lady has been working
hard all year and has been waiting patiently for the honor of becoming a
SOM. She started the year being
shy and lacking a little confidence.
Slowly as the year progressed her confidence, determination and shyness
started to improve. Her work is
always neat, correct and completed on task. She has great school spirit and
brightens up our classroom with her big smile. I know this student will do well in second grade. May the
Virgin Mary always guide her and bless her. Congratulations! To Class 1-2 student of the month
Marie-Perle Conde.
2-1 Neftali Soler

As the year winds down, we reflect on the progress the children have made throughout the year. You look for growth not only in their schoolwork, but their social interactions with friends and the responsibilities they take on. Our student of the month has shown that growth. Not only in his studies, but also in his attitude toward his work and the role he plays in the classroom. He takes on many jobs and is very diligent toward his responsibilities, plus he is always willing to do more. He is truly ready for the third grade. Congratulations to 2-1ıs May SOM, Neftali Soler.
2-2 Nathalie Rivas

Four weeks into May there are
four spectacular reasons why our student of the month was chosen.
One: Even
though the year seemed to have started quit challenging as if to be lost in
thicket of a forest, 2-2ıs SOM has emerged into a vibrant meadow as a
remarkable stronger student ready to meet the challenges of third grade because
she never gave up.
Two: With
each passing day she has gained more confidence as shown by her enthusiastic
participation in classroom discussions. She has also demonstrated great pride
and effort in all the tasks presented to her.
Three: Her
reading and academic ability has soared to new heights. Its great to witness
such growth like a blossoming wildflower.
Four: In
the month we honor Mary its appropriate to honor a student who has become more
caring towards others and is always engaged in spreading the messages of
respect, honor, and compassion.
With glowing smiles we
congratulate 2-2ıs SOM, Nathalie Rivas.
3RD
GRADE Jennifer Espana

Our May Student of the Month is new to the school. She has worked very hard since the beginning of the school year to excel in her academics and conduct. She continues to impress me with everything from her picture perfect penmanship to her mature and pleasant manners. I pray that our Blessed Mother Mary bestows her with well-deserved success always. Congratulations to Jennifer Espana.

4-2 Kiyrah Simeon.

The student the month for
Class 4-2 is like a beautiful May flower.
Just like the many petals that make up a flower, this student has many
favorable characteristics. I
have observed this studentıs determination to fit into a new environment even
though she is shy and quiet. She
has always brightened my day and that of others with her charming smile. Lately, I have watched her mature and
bloom into a very personable young girl.
I will be sorry to see this student leave the 4th grade. Congratulations to class 4-2 SOM
Kiyrah Simeon.
5-1 Christian Perez

He
is a tiger with a ferocious hunger for knowledge. Always using his keen eyes
for the opportunity to display quick responds to new instructions, situations,
methods and procedures, and never once taking his eyes off the prize- to
achieveı! This young man sees the big picture and will go far in his academic
endeavor. Class 5-1 is proud to have chosen Christian Perez as Mayıs SOM.
5-2 Anthony Solano

This student is very
energetic. The only time his brain is at rest is when heıs asleep, and even
then heıs probably dreaming. This student is always ready to do his work and
participate. You can tell that his
mind is constantly at work. Sometimes he startles me when he calls out
Ms. Yepez. Oh! There he goes
again! Another question. Heıs the
class clown on a positive note. He keeps the class alert and thus having them
think for a moment, okay, what now?
His curiosity is going to take him far one day. If he continues on this
positive note he will some day fulfill his dream of becoming a
cardiologist.
5-2ıs
May SOM is Anthony Solano and
³Happy
Birthday²!
6-1 Edson Saavedra

Since September, I am sure that this young man wished that I would forget his name for at least one day. His immaturity and behavior at the beginning of the school year caused his name to be constantly repeated. Well time is this young manıs best friend. Now we have a student who comes to school with a positive attitude and a desire to learn. He has placed a great deal of effort into improving his grades. He has taken pride in himself and his work, and it shows! Please continue the good work. Congratulations to Edson Saavedra!
6-2 Troi Hall

This student has truly amazed me these past few months. I have seen a side of her that I have never seen. From the beginning of the year, this student has been: a diligent worker, always prepared for class, an incredible independent thinker, and a great friend to her classmates. My only concern was that she was so quiet! Well, after watching her perform on one of our school shows, I no longer feel this way. When this student opened her mouth, I couldnıt believe the beautiful voice that came out of her! When I think about it, it makes me feel so proud that I know her because I believe one day I might be downloading one of her songs in my Ipod! This monthıs SOM Award goes to Troi Hall.
7-1 Jainell Vera-Mendoza

Nine down and one more to go,
wow! What a year we have had in seventh grade. It has been challenging, fun,
interesting, exhausting, and much, much, more. As we come closer to the end of
the year, I am glad to award this young lady Mayıs SOM award.
I will let her name tell it
all
J is for joy. She brings so much of it each day.
A is for attitude. She presents it when necessary.
N is for nice. She truly cares about her classmates and friends.
I is for intelligent. She has made a major improvement
in her academics.
E is for energy. She is always bouncing from spot to
spot.
L is for laughter. Her smile is overwhelming.
L is for lovely. She has grown to become a true young
lady.
I wish her the best in 8th
grade and I hope she keeps her spirit and spunk. Congratulations to 7-1ıs SOM,
Jainell Vera-Mendoza
7-2- Natalie Correa

Wow, there arenıt enough
adjectives to describe Mayıs student of the month. This student is what I call
a well-rounded individual. She is
the queen of multi-tasking. Sheıs able to take part in a lot of things and
still maintain a 90 and above average.
What ever she does whether recreational or educational she puts in
100%.
I admire this studentıs
determination at such a young age.
Her academics and many talents are going to take her very far in
life. And 7-2ıs student of the
month award goes to our star, Natalie Correa.
8-1
Khalfani Coicou
Itıs the end of May and soon
the school year will finally come to an end. During this time of preparation
for graduation, I am reminded of a consistent figure in my homeroom. This
individual is a good student and is always so full of energy. His unique sense
of humor and special style is unlike any student I have ever met. He is a
tribute to his family and he will be missed. So for 8-1ıs May Student of the
Month, I will again answer his question that he has asked all year, every day
without fail, ³ Ms. Nunoo-Brown, can I please have a hug?² And I always say,
³Yes, you can Khalfani Coicou, at graduation!²
8-2 Michael Sabido

Wow, itıs been one heck of a ride. Itıs the month of May. Nine months of preparation, hard work
and dedication. Who would have
thought that this year we would have survived? I sure had my doubts. Guess what? You made it! Some eighth graders had it tough this year but with Grace of
God they made it through.
One
young man in particular, had a pretty tough school year. However, he seemed to
take it in stride and not give up.
He quietly took on his work, his punishments, even when it was not his
fault, and he seemed to always brighten the end of our day by saying a joke
here and there just so we could all get through the day. He gave us a sign of hope for
this eighth grade class. He
reminded us that God has a sense of humor and smiles on us often.
You
fell asleep in my classes, you cried in my classes, you cracked jokes in my
classes and most importantly you survived my classes. I learned from you as much as you learned from me. You will be missed in my classes. Congratulations, Michael
Sabido.
