The
SOM for December is a child who is special in so many ways. She began the year not being able to
write her name. Everyday she would
give it her all and she was determined to learn how to write her name. After three months of school not only
is she able to write her name, she is now able to write a complete sentence on
her own. She never got frustrated
and all the while she did it with a smile! Congratulations to Kindergartenıs SOM, Zaria Dickerson
Parker.
1-1 Randy Morales

The Wondrous Season of
waiting and waiting eventually opens us to great surprises. I believe that the
SOM from Class 1-1 has spent time joyfully waiting to hear his name called.
This lovely young boy is new to Holy Name of Jesus School this year. He is
adjusting well. His grades prove that he is working very hard. In his quiet
way, he assists his fellow classmates. Let the honor of being chosen, as
student of the month be gift to his parents.
May the blessing of our Savior
be his. It is with great happiness I ask Randy Morales to come up hear and be
acknowledge.
1-2 Welfy Espinal

The SOM for class 1-2 is a
student who did not have a lot of confidence when he first arrived in our
classroom. Slowly his work has improved and so has his confidence. If you come
into the classroom you will find him hard at work and paying close attention to
what I am saying. He always participates and is always eager to learn new
things. This student is working
very hard to improve his reading and math skills. If he continues to work hard,
I see a good year for this youngster. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Congratulations, to class 1-2 SOM Welfy
Espinal.
2-1 El-Jamah Seymour

During this season of Advent we await the birth of Jesus. We take these weeks to prepare for our Saviorıs birth by living the faith and sharing joy and love as we care for others. Our December SOM is a child that tries his hardest to do this. He helps his friends when they need it and shows care and love to those around him. Even when he goes astray, he is always sorry and shows it. I watched his struggle with his behavior since he was in Kindergarten and it makes me proud to see how he is starting to take control and responsibility over his actions. We hope that this honor bring him faith, joy, and love and shows how we care for 2-1ıs SOM, El-Jamah Seymour.
2-2 Soraya Leon

In the month of December when we rejoice in the birth of
Godıs greatest gift, his son Jesus, 2-2 also celebrates receiving a welcomed addition
to the Holy Name Family our SOM. She arrived in September unsure of many
things, who her friends would be, what her teacher would be like, and if she
would be happy in Holy Name. The first few months were quite an adjustment but
now she has settled in and is a thoughtful, polite, helpful, and caring
student. She enjoys participating in class and volunteering to help in various
classroom tasks. She has also made great academic progress. With great joy
letıs congratulate 2-2ıs SOM Soraya Leon.
3rd
Grade Jacqueline Panama

The SOM for December made
Christmas come early for me this year.
She is as sweet as a candy cane, as gentle as falling snow. Her smile has the sparkle of a star and
she spreads Christmas cheer wherever she goes. She is my special Christmas angel, Jacqueline Panama!
4-1 Labrea Bazil

Pleasantkind-heartedhelpfulThese are just a few of the many adjectives any teacher could use to describe our student of the month. This child has made an impression on all of us because of her good nature and willingness to extend herself to others in friendship. She has also shown herself to be a hard working student who asks questions and keeps on trying at any task until she has mastered it. It is always a pleasure to see her smiling face every morning. Congratulations to her and best of luck to Labrea Bazil.
4-2 Queenasia Williams

The SOM for December is a young girl who is very quietly spoken. She always wants to do her best. She expresses herself through her writing. I have the feeling that this is her favorite subject. She usually has quite a lot to say! She goes about her assignments of the day silently getting the job done, always striving to do her best. She can sometimes be overlooked because she is so quiet, but when you read her writing, you know she has been listening to everything that has been taught and is trying to practice it. This is so rewarding to watch as a teacher and makes the joy of teaching so satisfying. Congratulations to Decemberıs SOM, Queenasia Williams.
5-1 Rose Carmel Altidor

This student stands to teach
us all a lesson on perseverance. She has a natural ability to recognize
opportunities and takes action without undue haste or delay. This is admirable
being that she has been in this country only three months and speaks, reads,
writes, and understands English. It is obvious she is not content with
mediocrity or wastes her time; she is an example to all of us of someone who
displays zest and pleasure in work and constantly seeks to broaden her academic
horizons. Class 5-1 is proud to have Rose Carmel Altidor as Decemberıs SOM.
5-2 Kashanda Henry

This SOM is an outstanding
person. She is responsible for her schoolwork, and tries her best on every
assignment. She has great class leadership, is kind, considerate and cares for
others. She participates in class
with enthusiasm and is always eager to learn. She questions what she doesnıt
understand. Congratulations! 5-2
SOM for December is Kashanda Henry.
6-1 Tiffany Serrano

The SOM for
Class 6-1 is truly unique. She
makes teaching a very enjoyable experience. She is a quiet young lady who has distinguished herself by
her attentive participation and her excellent work habits. She is a helpful, respectful and kind
student who is determined to achieve great things. We are very fortunate to have her in our class. Congratulations to Tiffany Serrano!
6-2 Esther Zenou

This monthıs SOM Award goes
to Esther
Zenou.
7-1 Chrystal Pabon

Happy holidays to all and may
your holiday be safe and prosperous. This is something that Decemberıs SOM has
already started saying to classmates and teachers. One of the reasons I chose
her to be Decemberıs SOM is because her demeanor and character warrants this
type of award. To be considered extra special, a person must exhibit qualities
that mimic their personality in a positive light. Well, let the light shine
bright because Decemberıs SOM is a blessing in disguise. Not only is she honest
and caring, her ability to want to help others is never-ending. I am glad to
have her as a student and I again and wish her the best during this holiday
season. Keep up the good work and congratulations to Decemberıs SOM, Crystal
Pabon.
7-2 Manuel Emiliano

Decemberıs SOM is a bundle of joy. This young man struggles a bit in certain subject areas but he works hard to achieve academic success. His homework is always done on time and he is always prepared for class. He is very polite, helpful, respectful, and considerate. I also admire his ability to have self-control while some young boys his age struggle in this areas.. He also takes away from his time to help me organize the classroom at the end of the day. These wonderful attributes will lead him to become a successful man one day. He is a real treasure. 7-2ıs December student of the month is Manuel Emiliano.
8-1 Rosario Peinan
This student always has a smile on her face; she is helpful, polite and respectful to her teachers and her peers. To top it all off, she also strives to do well in her academics. Her grace and quiet dignity that she carries like a cloak of honor is an attribute that will take her far in life. Congratulations to Rosario Peinan 8-1ıs December SOM!!!
8-2 Jennifer Mejia

Like
a breath of fresh winter air, this young lady seems to put a smile on
everyoneıs face and a spot of hope in our hearts. Like a quiet winter snowfall, she is silent but you
know she is there. She has that
commanding presence that lets you know, yes, you can count on me.
She
is a hard worker; she is polite and very bright. To top it off she has a
wonderful sense of humor and she is one of our new students. Congratulations, Jennifer Mejia
