DECEMBER STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Kindergarten Ralph Mercedes

The Student Of The Month for December is a child who has been working so hard to focus on his tasks.  This is a child who has a bundle of energy, but through inner strength and perseverance, he has been able to settle down and become a great student.  He has excellent behavior, he has a lot of ideas to share, and he gives every assignment his all.  May this childÕs star continue to shine bright and be an example for his classmates to follow.  Congratulations to the Kindergarten Student Of The Month, Ralph Mercedes.

1st Grade Emily Castro

Tis the most wonderful time of the year- and first grade is no exception. The child who has been selected, as DecemberÕs student of the month is a sweet and dear child. She is new to Holy Name of Jesus School. She was very shy and quite nervous when she began. Slowly she became more and more comfortable and now shines brightly within our classroom. She has a number of friends because she is a friend.

May she and all whom she holds dear to her heart be blessed with the radiant love that shines forth from the manger of Bethlehem. It is great joy and pleasure that Class 1-1 announces the good news  É..Emily Castro is our student of the month.

2-1 Arianna Vazquez

During the season of Advent we are preparing our minds and hearts for Jesus.  This third week we remember the joy of that waiting.  What better way then to honor the students who bring joy to our school?  Our student of the month brings joy to all around her.  She genuinely enjoys her classmates and the work she does in class.  She sometimes struggles, but that struggle has lead to her becoming a better student.  We have been working on so many little projects during this season and she takes pride in her work.  She is a joy to have as a student, and I know she is a joy to her friends and family.  Congratulations to Arianna Vazquez  2-1Õs December Student of the Month.

2-2 Amber Nunez

As we wait for the birth of Jesus, this student has slowly been preparing her heart for his arrival. She is has been treating her classmates extra nice, doing her work neater and really trying all around to improve her grades. Her classmates have even suggested that she should be picked to be the SOM and so she is. On behalf of her classmates and I; we would like to wish Class 2-2Õs SOM a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Congratulations to Class 2-2Õs Amber Nunez.

3rd Aniya Robinson

Our December SOM, with a sweet smile and a gentle soul, spreads Christmas cheer wherever she goes. She does her work quietly, and always tries her best. We wish a special Christmas blessing on her, just as weÕve been blest. Congratulations,

Aniya Robinson!

4th - Casey Clark

The days of December may be dark but in Grade 4 there is a student who brings brightness and light to our class each day.  This child has great enthusiasm and is equal to any task set before her.  She is also quite mature and well able to take on responsibility.  I know I can always count on her when there is a job that needs to get done correctly and well.

A third great quality of this child is the care she gives to her academic work,.  She is very talented, particularly in writing.  With so much going for her, it is our hope that she will continue to let her light shine all year long.  Congratulations to Casey Clark.

5-1 Taimar Leslie

This student stands out immediately by her natural ability to explore new paths, procedures, and approaches toward academics and life skills. This ability is displayed by a mature capacity to learn rapidly and adapt quickly to changing situations. Class 5-1 is proud to have chosen Taimar Leslie as DecemberÕs SOM.

5-2  Elianni Santos.

5-2 Ōs SOM is a delightful young lady with good work habits and a positive attitude towards school. She is pleasant, respectful and is always prepared for class. She doesnÕt allow the distractions around her to stop her from learning. Congratulations! Dec SOM is Elianni Santos.

6-1 Brandon Diaz

This student has made great strides in the sixth grade regarding his perspective.  He has learned to think before he speaks and to reason things out before making quick judgments.  He has proven to be a loyal friend to many of his classmates and has developed a very honest and sincere quality that is very nice to see in a student.  His desire to do well academically is admirable.  He has realized that that good study habits and self- confidence can bring success.  Congratulations to Brandon Diaz

6-2 Alyssa Romero

This student is quiet, well mannered, studious and a very kind girl. She genuinely cares about her schoolwork because she is always very conscious of handing in the best work she can give me.  She is also very responsible. I know I can always count her when I need things done.   DecemberÕs SOM goes to Alyssa Romero.

7-1 Serenity Rodriguez

DecemberÕs SOM has the type of smile that makes most people question, why is she so happy? She is one of the best helpers in the classroom and building. I am amazed at how she manages to maintain good behavior and grades while attempting to please all that crosses her path. She is a very good student that does well in all of her subjects. She is friendly to all and evens open her heart to those that cause her strife.  I am glad that she is the recipient of this award and I congratulate her on being DecemberÕs SOM. I am a bit jealous though because her dimples are much deeper than mine. Congratulations to Serenity Rodriguez.

7-2 Hiram Nieves

DecemberÕs student of the month has shown a tremendous amount of improvement, not only academically but also personally.  This student started off with a nonchalant attitude towards school.  However, IÕve always seen the potential in him.   Thankfully, he has adopted a new attitude towards school.  He has become consistent with his homework, is participating in class, is passing his exams, and is eager to help others.  His transformation comes right in time with the season of Advent and the birth of Christ.  During the season people to try to change for the better and we in 7-2 see this change in Hiram Nieves.  Keep striving and reaching for the stars!

8-1 Kaitlyn Marchena

The first thought that comes to mind, upon meeting this student is ŅWow, how quiet this one is!Ó Most times the first assessment is accurate. However in this case, my first thought was incorrect. This student is a ball of energy beneath the surface. However, this individual has morphed from a girl to a young lady. This change is demonstrated in her report card. Her academic performance has improved tremendously, indicating her decision to strive to do well in life. Her maturity, dedication and motivation to her academic career, will carry her far. Congratulations to Kaitlyn Marchena,

8-1Õs December Student of the Month!

8-2  Justin Delgado

Wow, to think that 2008 brought about so much change into many peopleÕs lives.  December is here and almost gone just like 2008, and once again we are here gathering for Student of the Month.

Well, if I really think about it, this time it was easy to pick the SOM because he truly is the spirit of Christmas.  He is bright, entertaining, polite, and good hearted.  This young man will be a force to reckon with in the future. Who knows, maybe he will be a future president who follows in the footsteps of our president elect.  Like I said before, change came in 2008 and just like this young man it will not stop in 2008 but continue to snowball for the better in 2009.  Congratulations and Merry Christmas to Justin Delgado, who truly exemplifies school spirit and positive change to the student body.
