APRIL STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

Kindergarten Robert Betancourt

Kindergartenıs SOM for April is a child who has tried hard all school year to be the best student that he can be.  Whenever he finds something difficult he just keeps trying until he gets it.  He doesnıt just aim to get things right he aims for perfection.  But the best quality this child has is the sweetness and gentleness in which he treats all of his classmates day in and day out.  He is certainly a class leader with a great attitude!  We are so proud of this student!  Congratulations to Robert Betancourt.

1-1 Shane Francis

As we continue to feel the blessed grace of our Holy Father, Pope Benedictıs effect upon our great city, Class 1-1 also has among them a very blessed child whose life within our classroom has touched each of us. When he shared a kind word to another, when we shared his lunch, when he waited his turn, when he forgave the classmate that bothered him, when he accepted his punishment with strength. This young man is a credit to his motherıs great strength. He works very hard and it shows in his grades. Congratulations, Shane Francis.

1-2  Kadence Burkhalter

As we bring in the season of spring we think about flowers blossoming and growing. The SOM for the month of April has done just that. She has truly blossomed this school year. When she first arrived to first grade she was extremely shy and nervous. Little by little she started to feel less nervous and started socializing more with her classmates. If you come into our class you will always find her working hard and doing her best. You can also find her participating in the lessons be taught in class. Even though she is a quiet student she is a hard worker and she does not give up easily. She is the kind of student who will keep trying until she understands the problem and gets it right. If she continues to work hard and stays focused I see a bright future for this student in 2nd Grade. Congratulations! to Class 1-2 SOM Kadence Burkhalter.

2-1 Ariana Capellan

As spring begins and we begin to see a renewal of life all around us, we are reminded of all that God created that is bright and beautiful.  2-1ıs SOM is the bright and beautiful flower of our class.  She shines bright as a reminder to all how wonderful Godıs creation is.  She is kind to all Godıs creatures whether it is updating us on the needs of our class pets or the needs of her friends.  She brightens our class with her warm smile and her thoughtful words.  We are honored to have Ariana Capellan as our April student of the month.

2-2 Megan Torres

Never mind all the months it took.

Never mind how many mistakes you made along the way.

For in the end you showed how hard you tried.

In the end, up went the effort.

In the end, up went the conduct.

In the end, up went the grades.

In the end, your teachers and your mom are smiling.

In the end, well there is no end, keep on going from here.

There is no end to how far you can go,

Megan Torres our Student of the Month

4-1 Rolando Aquino

Class 4-1ıs SOM can be described with these adjectives: dependable; reliable; industrious; cooperative. He is a young man who has distinguished himself in the short time he has been at Holy Name School by his willingness to work hard and ask questions.  He always seems to want to know more and go further in his quest to learn.  In addition, he can always be counted on to go out of his way and help in whatever way is needed.  For all these reasons, he is a prized member of our class.  We are very proud of him and wish him well.  Our student of the month is Rolando Aquino.

4-2 Collin Naar

I am delighted with this monthıs student of the month for class 4-2.  He has a mature approach and attitude towards to his work.  He is a good citizen and tries hard in all areas.  This student gets great satisfaction from doing his work well.  He is a quiet boy who treats his teacher and fellow students with a great deal of respect.

I am enjoying working with this student.   Congratulations go to Collin Naar.

5-1 Marleni Jaquez

This student has the right attitude and disposition toward academics.  Her awareness to perfect her skills while maintaining a strong self-control makes her an achiever. Meanwhile, she always finds time to help her peers and teacher with a welcoming smile.  No one is more deserving to be student of the month than this student. Congratulations to Marleni Jaquez .

5-2 Tyriq Danztler

This student started out sluggish. He would daydream and often dozed off. A change of seat quickly fixed the problem, and I noticed immediate progress. He is somewhat quiet, but very attentive and enjoys participating in class. At times he is hesitant, but he takes risks at being right or wrong. Donıt let his appearance fool you. He is a very sweet boy.  Heıs well mannered,  respectful, and accepted by his peers. Congratulations!  5-2 Aprilıs SOM is Tyriq Danztler.

6-1 Imerald Jenkins

Aprilıs SOM is someone whose quiet good nature and enthusiastic participation in class is greatly appreciated.  She is a hard working and responsible student who comes to school with a positive attitude and an open mind to learning. You can always count on her to follow directions and to have an understanding of when to be talkative and when to be silent.  She is also a very talented artist. Congratulations to Imerald Jenkins!

6-2 Theresa Alexis

This student has made an incredible amount of improvement these past few months.  She has had some low points during the year, but she has learned from her experiences.  She has become very responsible with her work and her attitude toward school has become a positive one.

It has been a joy to watch this student blossom this year. This monthıs SOM Award goes to Theresa Alexis.

7-2 Jasmine Montes

I call Aprilıs SOM my little ray of sunshine. She greets me every morning with a smile. This student is always ready to help me at drop of a dime, no questions asked.  Donıt we wish they were all that way?  I admire two things about her, one is her love for God and two is the fact that she isnıt afraid to be herself.  She works hard to achieve academic success.  Sheıs energetic, positive, responsible, and respectable. It is my pleasure to announce 7-2ıs April SOM, Jasmine Montes.

7-1 Zachary Quinones

Wow! What a change a quarter makes for this student. He has shown that with a little pressure, some effort, and consistency, improving academically is possible and worthwhile. His demeanor is playful and funny, but when it is time to get serious, he makes a grandstand effort. I am glad that he has made a significant change for the better because his success is more outstanding and worth talking about. His mannerisms are wonderful and I have rarely seen him explode at others. Holy Name School has been good for him and I wish him the best on his journey to success. I am glad to have him in Class 7-1. Good luck and keep up the good work. Congratulations to Aprilıs SOM, Zachary Quinones.

8-1 Amanda Garcia

This student may appear to be very shy but she stands out. She is noticed because of her excellent demeanor. She is kind, helpful and always striving to do better in her academics. Her wonderful attitude is just one of the many things that makes her such a terrific young lady! Congratulations to AMANDA GARCIA, 8-1ıs April Student of the Month!!

8-2 Meagan Simplicio

Spring is here and soon things will begin to wind down.  The fourth quarter has begun and 8th graders are now beginning to see the fruits of their labor.  Yup, thatıs right, reality is setting in.  Soon the halls will be empty and Holy Name will be just a memory for some 8th graders and for others it will be like losing a second home, a family.   When I think of Holy Name, many things come to mind and many people as well.  In homeroom 8-2 a special student comes to mind that truly reflects the spirit and wonder of Holy Name School.  This young lady is bright, caring, polite and very talented.  She is a model student and a true leader. This young lady has good morals, a testament to her parents, who have given her a great sense of family values. She also knows how to be a good friend, sister, daughter, niece and classmate.  Just like spring is a new beginning and things begin to grow, so have you.  This is only the beginning and soon new chapter of your life will begin.

Congratulations!  Meagan Simplicio.
